Hello! My name is Libby, I’m 18 years old, and I live in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Welcome to my World Race Blog!

My dad has always reminded me that Proverbs 4:18 says, “The path of the righteous is like the dawning of the new day, which shines brighter and brighter until the full light of day.” That makes a lot of sense to me, because God has always showed me the path he wants me to take, just like the sun gradually rises each morning. Last year, he led me to go with my church to the Amazon River for a week, ministering in villages, loving the people, and sharing the Gospel. I had such a good experience that I began to wonder, “What’s my next step?” I had heard about The World Race, and I began to think and pray about pursuing it as an option after graduation. Then, earlier this year, God confirmed that this was his next step for me!

So what exactly is The World Race? It’s a 9-month overseas missional experience that will take me to Guatemala, South Africa, Cambodia, and Thailand ministering to the people and sharing Jesus through community outreach, children’s ministry, sports evangelism, and teaching English. This will definitely be a leap of faith for me, but I believe God has called and equipped me and that’s a pretty good start!

Please pray for me as I prepare for The World Race! And please consider supporting this endeavor. The total cost is $15,800 for the entire 9-month experience. That sounds like a lot of money, for sure. But I’m believing that God will provide through my hard work at earning and saving money as well as the many people whose paths have crossed with mine over the years. Thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support!

May God bless each of you!!

  5. Libby, when I learned of your decision I just praised God that He had opened these doors for you. As I watched your joy of just the week in the Amazon, I prayed that it would not be your last contact with the third world and His children who still don’t have a personal relationship with His Son. After 4 years as a missionary in Bolivia I know the joy of spending myself in His service. All my prayers go with you as your embark in just a week. This will change your life in ways you cannot now even imagine. Each day God will have a delight for you as He unpacks His will. With all my love..

  6. Libby, my wife and are new to Crossgate Church, and we’re very much enjoying it. Linda and I are in the EDGE LifeGroup with your Grandmother, Jane. She’s a delightful lady. I am a retired Southern Baptist minister and my wife retired from the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Evangelism and Growth Team. I have a person in Guatemala that I’m not personally acquainted with, but follow her on Facebook. I thought it interesting that you’re going there on your last leg of your trip. When the time comes, I’ll share more about her. We will be praying for you for sure.
