Hello blog!!!

It has been a hot minute since I’ve sat down and shared a blog post.

Since my last post, I’m so happy to say I’m fully funded!!!

HUGGGEEEE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped support me in their generosity in giving and in their prayers.

Right now I am sitting in a Starbucks in Black Mountain NC drinking my iced coffee which is literally SO GOOD!

I LOVE STARBUCKS!!!!

I’ve been living with 60 girls for almost 2 weeks doing ministry work throughout the community of Black Mountain, North Carolina.

It looks different everyday.

I’ve helped out in the communal gardens, painted office spaces for a summer camp, helped the neighbors load and unpack boxes for their new home, and so much more!!

One of my most favorite ministry opportunities this week has been being able to help out with child care.

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, me and two other squad mates have had the opportunity to help out with a child care program for homeschool parents.

If you know me, you know that I love

psalms 127:3 “ children are a blessing from the lord !”

These kids are absolutely crazy and fun, and I cherish every opportunity I have to be able to play with them.

Jesus’ love for children was so vast. It’s simply beautiful. During these past 2 weeks, I’ve been able to love on these kids, and they’ve been able to trust me.

I will be very honest in saying that I’ve struggled to find time with our Heavenly Father since I’ve been here in North Carolina

I could “blame” it on many things, but they don’t matter.

Stewarding my time with Jesus is a great priority, but one I’ve been neglecting.

As I’ve recognized this problem, I’ve realized what childlike faith means to me.

So many times these past 2 weeks, these children have come to me and gestured/asked me to hold them, to sit in my lap and let me read to them or even just be silly with them. They’ve become comfortable with me.

One thing that’s been really sweet is hearing them say my name. These kids are pretty young and have a hard time remembering my name. But when they do remember it, and call out to me it is so rewarding

There has been one little boy who is very sweet. He has remembered my name and even asked his mom if I can babysit him more!!

He is such a mamas boy, so for him to ask his mom that question is pretty big in my books!

Hearing that made my heart full of joy, but I can only imagine how the our Heavenly Father’s heart feels when we tell others how much we want to spend time with Him, and truly enjoy being in His presence. As I sit here and drink my iced coffee, it all clicked.

I’ve been so busy feeling as if I need to persuade the Lord with fancy words or impress Him with what I do, that I’ve hidden this childlike faith and over complicated it.

Jesus calls us to be like children. To never stop wondering in what He has planned for us.

To always be in wonder of His creation.

As I’ve been with these children, they’ve shown me what it means to trust, and to let us provide.

I trust Jesus and I know that He provides.

As I look to the cross I remember that He longs to hear us call to Him.

Thank you Jesus for picking me up when I’ve been searching for comfort and letting me abide in Your presence.
